It's a girl! ...and I leaned back on the hospital bed crying tears of joy*. I was a mother and this beautiful baby was mine. Extremely intense feelings for a teenager. I never felt love overflow my entire body until that moment I held her in my arms. Nothing mattered, not my age, my status nor what others may think of me being a mother at 18. She was mine and at that moment I vowed to be the best mom I can be. I knew the road I've taken will be a bumpy one and I knew life was going to be harder but I was ready to conquer whatever life decided to throw at me, as long as she was by my side.
I whispered in her ear. "I'm your mommy. I love you and we're in this together."
Yasmine F PA
Her first name was suggested by her Ninang Arlie and the middle name came to my mother in a dream. It sounded perfect and perfect she was.
This love I have for this girl, this being, is immensely strong and larger than any universe can hold.
Like I've always said to you growing up..."it's you and I...always you and I"
